DOTT is an essential part of the health industry where trainees learn how to work alongside the doctors & nurses in the operation theatre to ensure that surgery procedures are performed safely & efficiently. DOTT is a 2 year programme. In this course the responsibility of the trainee is to prepare the OT room before surgery, to arrange all the equipment related to surgery, vitals need to be checked before sending the patient inside the OT, patient file needs to be verified before procedure, and sterilize the equipment from the CSSD department. It aims to provide professional knowledge about operation theatre. Concepts which will be covered in the course are Fundamentals of Biomedical waste management, first aid & bandaging, Human anatomy, OT Equipment management, Elementary Nursing, clinical pathology, OT tray set up, essential critical care & nursing skills, CSSD procedures Anaesthesia for special surgeries, etc.
